ARSTIST BIO

My relationship with art started in elementary with stick figures then advance to created a poster design for friends birthday. Their comments help lead me to believe that I have a talent for it. Art is my outlet that I used when I feel overwhelmed. In the meantime I was a registered nurse and one of my own CNA assistants. Coworkers tell me about examples of medical illustration; so I look into it. I was fascinated, so I wanted to go that direction, and since then I've always been on it. My art design was first published in April 2019 by an organization named the Eclectic. I am graduating in Art with a BFA ; After graduation I will be joining the military and then pursuing a master's degree at a Medical Illustration school. I plan on succeeding and not surrendering until my dream comes true. As well in selling my art on the side.

ARTIST STATEMENT

My art defines my mind, interest, and view of the world. Art today, even back centuries ago, all have one main thing in common: it's a language. Human communication between each other. We use it as our voice which in most cases is more powerful than us actually speaking. The most profound art draws the audience, gets their mind to thinking and for me as an artist I've learned to use it as my voice, pride, and expression. It's a gift that cannot be taken, my style is based on how I feel. What do I want to turn that blank expression into whether it's color or black and white. It is my choice. I'm the one in control, calling the shots. Freedom and peace of mind is its name.
Over the years between taking classes and advancing my skills on my own I learn five things. One it's important as a artist to understand on how you what your self to be recognize when people look at your work. Two take criticism but don't let it discourage you from your goal and main focus. Three always take every opportunity and use it to your fullest by getting your name out there. Four always stay updated on whats happening in the art world that way you can learn from other artist whether its a lesson or advice. Last but not least never back down from a challenge never get discourage and always remember that you as the artist is the narrator.
